FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

If something isn't covered here, send us a note and we'll add it.

Do I need an account to run an audit?

No. Paste a URL on the homepage and the report runs immediately. Accounts only matter if you buy credits and want them saved.

What exactly does the report cover?

Page speed, meta tags, broken links, mobile readiness and keyword density — each scored individually and rolled into one overall grade with a prioritised fix list.

How long does an audit take?

Usually under 30 seconds. Pages with many outbound links take slightly longer because we check link status codes live.

Can I audit a site I don't own?

Yes. Everything Scribe reads is publicly accessible page data, so competitor and prospect audits work exactly the same way.

Does Scribe work on password-protected or staging sites?

No. If the page requires a login or blocks crawlers, we can't fetch it and the audit will fail with an error.

How is this different from a full SEO platform?

Platforms track rankings over months. Scribe answers one question — is this page technically sound right now — and charges accordingly.

Do credits expire?

No. Credit packs never expire and there is no monthly minimum.

Can I get reports for a whole site instead of one page?

Multi-page crawls are on the roadmap. For now each credit audits one URL, which is usually enough to find sitewide template issues.
